How much does it cost to ship a car?

Price depends on distance, the vehicle's size, whether you choose open or enclosed transport, and the season. Snowbird lanes in and out of Florida swing hardest. Our quotes come from carriers actually running your route on your dates and include fuel, tolls, insurance and taxes — no deposit to book.

What is the difference between open and enclosed transport?

Open transport is the standard multi-car carrier you see on the highway. It is the most available and most affordable option and is what most daily drivers ship on. Enclosed transport is a fully covered trailer that protects against weather and road debris, and it is what we recommend for exotics, classics, low-clearance and high-value vehicles.

How long does car shipping take?

Roughly, Florida to the Northeast runs about 2 to 4 days in transit, cross-country about 7 to 10. Pickup windows depend on how quickly a carrier is running your lane, which is why booking a week or two ahead gets you both a better price and a better window.

Do I have to be there for pickup and delivery?

Someone does — you or anyone you designate, who can inspect the vehicle and sign the bill of lading at both ends. Door-to-door is standard, and where a full-size hauler cannot safely enter a street, the driver arranges a nearby meeting point with you directly.

Can I put personal items in the car?

Carriers generally allow up to about 100 lbs in the trunk, below the window line. Personal items are not covered by the carrier's cargo insurance, so keep anything valuable or irreplaceable with you. Mention what you are packing during the quote so there are no surprises at pickup.
